The character Agnes from the game Bravely Default: Flying Fairy looks like a mixture of Dagger from FFIX and Calista from Last Story to me. With that said, I think it is a good thing. I love those two characters and it doesn't feel like Agnes is just a rip-off either.

But from my experience, almost every JRPG's development is connected somehow. A lot of the people in Japans roll playing game industry work on different projects at the same time and also gets asked to work on a certain game from another company. There is also the fact that stereotypes have established themselves, both in the world of JRPG and manga. I love those stereotypes, and you can't really say which person is the original creator of a certain stereotype either. They have developed for a number of years, but I really like it. Sometimes you kind of get extremely similar characters, almost replicas of another character, but, you can just hope it is a replica of a character you like and that they put at least SOMETHING NEW into it.
But, back to these three characters. Agnes isn't too similar to either Dagger or Calista. I just think they had some similarities and yay for that!
