Hi,
There's been so much to do these last couples of days. Three birthdays upon all of it too. So here's what I painted for my sister Mimmi. She loves butterflies...
I begun with picking out a good pic of a butterfly and then sketched, and filled it in with Inktense water colour pencils. This is how it looked after those steps.

Inktense colours used: Shiraz, Mustard, Willow, Bark, Baked Earth
Then I begun with fluid water colour...

Water colours added here: Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna
Here's the finished result...

The finishing colours: Burnt Umber, Sepia, Titanium White (Opaque White)
I enjoyed doing this because of the colours. Sienna and sepia are very inspiring to use, especially together. Sepia is a very deep and cold brown, which creates harsh lines very easily. I adore ochres and browns. They're very vibrant and attractive to the eye. It drawns, at least me, in with a warmth and soothingness, but it's still very mystical.

My desk, coffee, architecture and weapons history book, And you can also see the reference I used. My desk is actually a little too small for me I think...
Here's the reference...
Either from http://antiqueimages.blogspot.se/ or http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.se/... I can't remember which but they're blogs are great for finding references and good pics for scrapbooking, or to decor your blog with, as I do.
Have a nice evening!
